Platypus Tarn in May
Saturday 20 May 2023
The weather forecast was not ideal, but it seemed that it would be OK for at least the morning. It is always a difficult decision to make about cancelling, but after missing the last working bee because of the weather, the decision was to go ahead.
It was quite a change to almost certainly have the youngest average age of the party ever at Mount Field. This was noticeable on how quickly they got out of site on the climb from Platypus Tarn. Great to have this group of fine helpers.
The section of track, remaining from the previous time, was cleared much quicker than anticipated. This was some 160 metres in length. For much of the time it was a misty atmosphere, sometimes being light drizzle, sometimes almost snow and at other times faint sunshine getting through the enveloping cloud above.
