Maintenance on Windy Moor
Tuesday 23 April 2019
When at Windy Moor in March it was noticed that some planks had twisted at the end and need attention in case the situation with them deteriorated. The solution suggested was to use coach bolts and this is what we took there on the trip to fix them.

It was a nice day and that made working on the moorland pleasant. On some planks the bugle screws had broken or were not attaching to the support timbers. Others had simply twisted on one side. Each required a slightly different fix with some proving difficult. In all 11 planks needed repair.

With that work done by lunchtime, we had time another task that has waiting for some time to be done. The sign at the start of the side track to Lake Seal indicates that it takes 30 minutes to get there, whereas in reality it takes between 5-6 minutes of walking. A signs indicating 10 min one way was fixed on to post.
