Fagus at end of upgraded track section

This time the main area of work was a stretch of track with a lot of water running onto it. John brought along a flying fox to assist in moving rocks and this was a great bonus. Not only did it make it easier to get the rocks to the site, but it also meant a lot less strain on people’s backs.

Two quite big rocks were used to bridge a small creek and lesser size ones placed over the remaining wet section. A further section remains to be done.

Gravel was also added to parts of the track to overcome environmental damage and fix dangerous hollows.

Parts of an existing boardwalk were unstable and were repaired by installing new supporting posts to secure the structure.

Small creek that runs over the track and spreads sideways. Most water runs through beside the tea tree.

Large rocks over the small creek. Water flows under the end of the second big rock (top).
