Visitor Centre Area Maintenance

Got  to  the  visitor  centre  to  report  in and  then  went to  the  workshop  to  collect  the  mini  wire  cutters. Dave  brought  a  steel  dropper  remover  and  a  special  pair  of  wire  pliers. We  started  work  at  9.15  and  finished  at  5.30.The  3  of  us  had  a  system  going  and  finished that  enclosure  by  12.15.
Started  on  the  second  enclosure  and  had  lunch  at 1.00  in  one  of  the  huts  where  Susan  M. - a Discovery  Ranger was  talking  about  native  foods - we  had  roo  patties , damper, fetta  and  tea  with  Alpine  Baeckea. We  where  keen  to  get  the  second  finished so  stuck  at  it  and  at  about  5.00  Trevor  Norris  the  new  2IC  pulled  up  and  introduced  himself  and  stayed  for  a  while  and  said  that  he  had  heard  great  things  about  what Friends of Mt Field had  done. As  we  finished  Reg  alerted  us  to  a  third  small  enclosure  very  close  to  the  river. (report from Greg)
