Rodway Shelter - Lake Nicholls Track

Hut Maintenance at Mt Field NP on Saturday 13 Dec 08

It was raining on the Saturday so the work was postponed to the Sunday, however conditions were too cold for paint even at the Lake Fenton hut, so we spent the time checking out the track to Lake Nicholls, plus inspected the hut and noticed a leak in the roof that would need fixing fairly soon. The hut otherwise was in good order and been kept neat and clean by visitors. Unfortunately several fires had been lit outside and we removed the ashes and tidied the sites up as best we could without tools.
