Lake Nicholls Track

The weather has been unkind over the last couple of months and caused changes to planned work. The shorter daylight hours now also encourages doing tasks that can reached without a long walk to get there.

One of the jobs that had been put off was able to be completed at this occasion and that was to replace signs at Lakes Nicholls and Rayner. The Lake Nicholls sign had a naming error that had been missed even after several checks, whilst the other had gone missing.

The weather was pleasant, and we enjoyed the sun and calm conditions. Most of the effort was on the inward journey as that is the uphill bit and there was quite a bit of gear to carry. John “snapper” Hughes had given us a spare lightweight crowbar, and this was much appreciated on this day.
