Over the weekend of 27 and 28 August the park held a low key celebration of the centenary of Mount Field becoming a national park. The actual anniversary date is Monday 29 August and to mark the day the children from Westerway Primary School placed messages in a time capsule, which is to be opened in 25 years time.
Following this cake was cut by the Friends of Mount Field to celebrate the day and finally there was a BBQ with the kids.
