Tyenna River Planting

22 November 2014

An NRM grant of $500 was used to purchase plants for the Tyenna River bank site.  We were able to get the vast majority of the 325 plants into the ground. In nearly all instances they were placed in the spot where one had died from our previous plantings.

On inspecting the older plants we found that in most instances it was not going to be easy nor have the time to pull back mulch around the base of them.  We also did not have sufficient time or numbers to do anything about ridding blackberry bushes that were starting to grown in the area, apart from a few that were dug out whilst putting the new plants.
