Weed Clearance Visitor Area

Saturday 20 September 2014

The weeds near the park entrance have been an irritant for many years and we have cleared some up in the past. And this month we commenced the clearing of Erica and some blackberry. The work was beside the entrance road commencing at the turnoff from the Gordon Rd and continuing past the rail line.  The Erica was in flower and much well grown, but some small plants were also present and the area will need to be checked before too long to remove these.  The plants removed were taken by Parks to be burnt.  As the work was close to the road we had signs and barrier tape for safety purposes.

It was felt that we ought to return next working bee to finish off the work.
