Belton Belcher Track
Saturday 15 March 2014
With plenty of daylight hours still, we opted to continue on from last months work on clearing the track from the saddle at the end of Wombat Moor down to the plains leading to Lake Belcher and Belton. Very good progress was again made and 390 metres was done. This leaves about 200 metres to bottom of the track where the boggy sections of track start. The work ended at a point just over 4 k from the car park and it was a 1:30 walk to there and back. Conditions on the day were initially quite pleasant, but a light shower stated just before lunch but cleared enough for us to continue.
The remaining section will probably be scheduled for November or December this year.
Part of the overgrown track
Cleared track (a bit blurred but all I took on the day)
