Boardwalking Woodland Mosaic Track
Wednesday 5 February 2014
A grant from Wildcare and one from the Tasmanian Community Fund enabled timber and other materials to be bought to build a boardwalk to the Woodland Mosaic site some 300 metres from the road.
Work commenced on the task with staff from Mount Field. The boardwalk is a double plank design and the Friends of Mount Field volunteers worked on drilling in securing screws and on adding side posts to keep the boards firmly in place. Work was also done on the clearing and levelling of the ground where the planks were to go.
Some metres of boardwalk was installed. The weather was absolutely delightful with calm conditions, blue skies and a pleasant temperature.
