Tarn Shelf - Track Maintenance

Prior to doing work on the Tarn Shelf, the window frames in the Rodway Shelter were sealed with silicon. Some areas previously worked on the Tarn Shelf were upgraded and most of the remaining pile of hessian was placed on bare areas to encourage rehabilitation. New work was done on the area prior to James Tarn and almost completed to the point where the gravelled track section is met.

Although the morning was clear and fine, conditions gradually clouded and eventually a few drops of rain arrived. However soon after midday heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning commenced and all further work for the day was abandoned. What had been a dry track with very little water lying about changed to water everywhere and some of the rock work from earlier working bees had water above the top of the rocks.
